Snack Shack Duties:
For the 2025 spring season, RVLL is continuing to make some adjustments to the snack shack operation to improve quality, service and safety. Continuing from the 2024 season, RVLL is maintaining the requirement for an adult presence during all operational hours of the shack. In this arrangement, player parents (or other family members) will have a mandatory volunteer requirement in the snack shack (details below). Registering your child for the RVLL season is agreeing to satisfy this requirement. Note this requirement only applies to players in the Peanuts, Rookies, Farms, Minors and Majors divisions (Tee Ball and Upper divisions are not included due to their disproportionate amount of games played at RVLL).

It should be noted that local teens will still have the opportunity to earn some cash, as a normal staff will be 4 RVLL-paid teens and 3 volunteer adults. This is in contrast to past seasons, where the shack was staffed entirely by adults, with an option to hire teens on an ad hoc basis. This resulted in a relatively large adult volunteer burden. The arrangement for the 2025 season requires many less adult volunteer hours. Each player in the league (with the exception of those registered in Tee-Ball or the Upper Divisions) will have one (1) 2-hour adult volunteer shift for the entire season. Further, the shifts will be offered with flexible signup dates so that families can balance their time at the field. It will not be required that your shift coincide with your player's game.

The RVLL board sincerely hopes the membership will meet this need with the same enthusiasm and resolve we have come to expect. However, we understand some would soon choose death over deep fryer and there is an estimated surplus of adults to required shifts. There are a limited amount (<150) of snack shack buyout options which are offered to first comers once teams have been drafted. The buyout option will cost $125 (per player). Proceeds from this will be applied to further improve the snack shack and other forward-facing aspects of RVLL.
*Tee-Ball and Upper divisions (50/70, Juniors & Seniors) are not included due to their disproportionate amount of games played at RVLL.

Please note: If your child was born after August 31, 2021, your child is too young to play in our league. If your child was born prior to September 1, 2008, your child is too old to play in our league.
